Gmail@UHThe University of Hawaii has adopted Google Apps as the official email management system. Gmail has a number of advantages over the old UH Email system including better spam filters, integrated calendar and documents, and a well-designed user interface. Faculty who are using the old UH Mail system are encouraged to migrate to Gmail@UH. For more information including migration assistance, see the links below.
Skype
Skype is an application that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. Calls to other users on computers are free-of-charge, while calls to other land lines and mobile phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transferring and video conferencing.
Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate)Blackboard is your online classroom! It is a synchronous, Web-based application that offers the opportunity for voice conferencing, video conferencing, collaborating on content, and text chatting. These features provide a multi-modal learning environment which should feel much like your face-to-face classrooms.
